Following my dreams of homesteading and having my own land with horses. I want to raise chickens, ducks, goats, and grow my own food. I want to raise horses and live off the grid. I want to help and give back to the world. This is my adventure. I like to research and learn all about these things. So come along with me and learn everything about raising a newborn Suffolk Punch/Percheron filly, setting up a homestead, and raising animals.

Day 15 Lilly Got REM
Day 15 Lilly Got REM 10/28/2020
It was so exciting! When I arrived Lilly was laying down sleeping! This was the first time I saw her lying down in the new pasture with her new herd. This means she was relaxed enough to lay down. This is super important because horses only get REM sleep when they are laying down. Most of the sleep horses get is standing up. So it is very important that horses get sleep laying down. So that was a great development!
Feeding time at the farm!!!
Our First Selfies!
Yum Yum Yum!!!!

Great day!
We spent time just hanging out while she ate her hay and I sang to her and stroked her and sat with her. It was beautiful and peaceful!
Snow was mostly packed down so we were able to go for another walk to her food! On the way back we played touch it! She did awesome! She loves exploring!
Feeding her - I lead her up to her food. Stopped her - had her take a step back and relax than walked forward again - take a step back and relax. She did MUCH better. I think I’m being clear with what I want and she is learning that she still gets her food and gets it much faster if she doesn’t push on me! Gave her permission to eat - Lilly eat! And I pointed down to her food.
Practiced lifting her feet. Looks a lot harder than all the videos show. Lol doing something wrong there.
Ferrier comes tomorrow! Im looking forward to hearing how she thinks Lilly’s feet are!
Great day! I love my horse!!!! We also got our first selfies today!!!!
Oh and she is adjusting well to the herd. When I arrived today she was laying down taking a nap!!!!! Yeah REM sleep!!!! First time I’ve seen her down. Jerry (guy who feeds and waters them and looks after them) said he’s seen her lay down a lot! But it was my first time!
